The project “Try yourself a hermit” – an alternative vacation for Tomsk citizens

The project is ideal for those who want to touch the mysterious and harsh life of the Siberian north, test themselves, and also try life in a skete. The participants have the opportunity not only to experience the beauty of the northern nature, but also to familiarize themselves with the life of the Ostyaks-Selkups.
The project “Try Yourself a Recluse” differs from popular tourist offers in that when it gets into the “discomfort zone” psychological stress occurs. There are no familiar benefits of civilization – electricity, mobile phones, the Internet and computers. The “hermit” can only rely on its own strength and ingenuity to ensure its life in harmony with the harsh natural conditions of Siberia.
All project participants have the opportunity to discover in themselves the qualities of a primitive person who is close to understanding the unshakable laws of nature and survival. Rest from the incredible flow of information makes it possible to stay alone with yourself and listen to the inner voice, which is barely audible at our rapid pace of life in big cities.
The tour starts from the village of Incino, Kolpashevsky district. To Tebenak Island, tourists are delivered by motorboats or snowmobiles, depending on the season. The main base of residence of the “hermit” is the taiga borrower “Tebenak”. It is located on the bank of the Ob in close proximity to the taiga massifs. In the camp there is a guest house for four tourists, a bathhouse and a gazebo. On the island there are many lakes, the residence of the “hermit” is supposed to be on the lake Linevoe, which is located 5 km from the main base.
The lake is recognized as one of the most unsinkable places on the island. There is a hermit’s hut, a caramo, which is a semi-earthmother, the traditional home of the Ostyaks. On the island there is a “black” bath, a cooking area is equipped. In addition, you can go to the rafting on the lake, especially for this provided rowing boats.
The organizers offer tours of various degrees of retreat on the taiga island Tebenak. It all depends on the level of training and the wishes of the tourist. For example, a hermit of the first level will be acquainted with a primitive life, for him will conduct an animation program “Types of fishing.” For hermits of the second level, the program “Types of Fishing” is combined with acquaintance with “Primitive means of hunting”.
But a third-level hermit will get acquainted not only with the theoretical, but also with the practical side of fishing and will learn many subtleties of this art. The next day for the “professional hermit” a short course will be organized in which they will tell about the peculiarities of the local flora and fauna, about the habits of animals, the specifics of seasonal hunting. The program also includes a short course, which is called “Forest Sleeping – how to spend the night in the forest.”
