Ancient Luxor and its attractions

Luxor can be called the pearl of Egypt. This is a small town located on the right bank of the Nile River. This city was once the famous capital of ancient Egypt. It is located 500 km from Cairo and is very popular among tourists. Luxor Egypt is a real fount of architectural monuments, therefore it can rightly be called the world center of archeology. In the city itself and in its district are some of the most important and famous archaeological sites of Egypt. If we talk about Luxor from the east, here are the ancient temples that were built by the pharaohs in honor of the god Amon. West Luxor keeps the mysteries of the funeral temples and tombs carved into the mountain. It is called the City of the Dead.
Not without reason Egypt Luxor is called a pearl, a great variety of sightseeing buses runs there every day. Therefore, if you decide to go to Egypt, you must immediately plan an excursion to Luxor. In one day you will not have time to visit all the sights. You should take care of housing for several days in advance, so that you can fully understand the history of this ancient city and fully experience all its secrets.
One of the most important architectural structures in Ancient Luxor is considered the Karnak temple and the Luxor temple of the same name, located on the east side of the Nile. Having been in Luxor, it is worth visiting the tombs, carved directly into the rocks. When you visit the temple you will be amazed by the beauty of the painted walls, as well as the vault of the burial chamber in the form of a starry sky. To this day, within the temple we can see the ancient mosque. In general, the entire territory of the temple has a length of about a quarter of a kilometer along the river. At the entrance pylon previously located six statues, but now there are only three kollos. Each of them reaches a height of 20 meters. They depict Ramses II and his wife Nefertari (Nefertiti).
Visiting Egypt Luxor whose photo cannot fully reveal the beauty of the city, do not forget about the temple of Queen Hatshepsut. This person to this day keeps a lot of mysteries in the history of the whole name, which until now many Egyptologists cannot solve. If you are going on an excursion to this famous city, you should not forget about clothes with long sleeves, water and a hat.
